Do I need a flu vaccine?
Influenza is a serious disease that can lead to hospitalisation or sometimes even death. Cleveland Clinic provides a flu vaccine to any of our patients who desire it, or we feel are at increased risk of contracting the virus. Vaccination is the frontline in flu prevention.
Who should get the flu vaccine?
- Children - the vaccine can be given to anyone over the age of 6 months. It is recommended for children aged two up to and including school year 11 (age 15 to 16)
- Adults over 65 - especially those with weakened or low immune systems
- Anyone with a long-term medical condition, if you are unsure if this applies to you then please ask your doctor
- Pregnant women - or women planning on becoming pregnant
